Advanced Genealogy Research
Starting at $525
Focus: In Depth Traditional Genealogical Research
In depth investigations involving complex family relationships, difficult to locate records, and long standing genealogical mysteries. This service is well suited for research questions that need broader record review and a more detailed written report. It does not include DNA analysis or genetic genealogy.
What’s Included:
Expanded Research Phase: In depth investigation into your family history using trusted genealogical databases, historical records, archival materials, and other relevant sources, scoped to your goals during your consultation.
Comprehensive Record Review: Research may include relevant sources such as:
Birth, marriage, and death records
Census records
Military records
Immigration and naturalization records
Newspaper archives
Probate, land, court, and other historical records, when relevant and available
Church and civil records, including international and foreign language records
Detailed Research Report: A professionally written report summarizing the research performed, key findings, analysis, and recommended next steps, when applicable.
Source Citations: Findings are supported by source citations so the information is documented, clear, and verifiable.
Digital Copies of Relevant Records: When available, digital copies of records located during the research will be included with your report.
Ancestry Tree Updates: When requested, key documented findings may be added to an existing Ancestry tree provided by the client.
Ideal For:
Clients with complex family history questions
Long standing genealogy brick walls
Lineage verification projects
Lineage society application support
Inheritance or proof based family history research
Clients needing deeper analysis and a stronger research foundation
How It Works
Every family history is unique, and research needs can vary considerably depending on the complexity of the case, the availability of records, and whether foreign language or DNA research is involved. I offer a free initial consultation to discuss your goals, review the information you already have, and recommend a research plan tailored to your case.
All research begins with a free consultation and a signed research agreement. You’ll receive a clear explanation of the proposed research, costs, and expected deliverables before any work begins.
If your research would benefit from additional work, I’ll explain what I recommend and provide a fixed quote for the next phase. Nothing is added without your approval, and there are never surprise charges.
Agency and law enforcement rates are available on request.
